Media review of the Book Thief

The Book Thief is Set during World War II in Germany. This book is about a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel steals when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids. This book has such an interesting perspective. Having Death as the narrator for parts of the story really took it to the next level making it unique. It also created a sense of detachment from the events, and evoked the message that death is unavoidable and will eventually come for all. In so many ways, her childhood mirrored any other "normal" happy childhood. However, the over bearing presence of Hitler's Nazi influence loomed in the background.

When her foster parents choose to hide a Jewish man, Max Vandenburg, in their basement Liesel's story becomes even more complicated. There is no denying the brutal reality of life under the Nazi regime. I held my breath waiting for their secret to be discovered. I found the story to be enlightening and inspirational. This book is probably one of my favorite books, I loved this story I highly recommend you to read it.

Media review Beauty and the beast(2017)

Beauty and the Beast is Disney's live-action remake of the classic 1991 animated musical, with Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. This new version is fantastic! Everything we loved about the original film is in this one too, but without changing the overall story and the motivation of the main characters, this amazing remake gives more depth to the original story and lets the audience see more regarding what caused all of the characters to be where they are when the movie starts. Absolutely a beautiful remake of a great movie! Worth going to see. Disney never disappoints.

Media review Pet Sematary

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors his books focus on the horror and dark parts in peoples lives. The plot of Pet Sematary begins with a family moving into a new house, but then they quickly realize dead is better off dead.

This  book that he considers the most frightening he has ever written. He has showed regret over publishing it, claiming that it's too dark, and goes to far by playing with peoples true fear. Pet Sematary expresses that very fear of loosing a loved one in the most horrible way. Then there is the question, would you bring them back to life if you had the chance to no matter the cost? Some people would jump and do it right away and not think about the consequences and thats what the characters has to live with, is the cost worth bringing back the dead. I love this book in the first couple of pages it has me hooked into it. It is a fast pass, never ending horror book and his family and a cat that starts it all. There is nothing I can say bad about this book it is written amazingly.

Hello my name is Kayla I am currently going to Frederick Community College to be a graphic designer. During my spare time I enjoy reading, drawing, watching Netflix and playing with my dog Angel.
I hope to graduate next semester from FCC though it has been a roller coaster ride with current medical issues. About a year ago I was diagnosed with type one diabetes and was in the hospital for a while I had to drop classes, quite my job and change everything in my life. I did not let this get me down though last semester in my graphics class my logo and designs where chosen by the Fredrick County Animal shelter to be their new brand. I'm also doing an internship with them to continue on my work for them. Though my life has been turned upside down due to my illness I will continue my dream to be a graphic designer. I hope to encourage other people to never give up no matter what life throws in your face.
